On 20 August 2024, 20 of our Panasonic employees from Singapore Companies participated in the ‘One Panasonic’, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Integrated Learning Journey to the Keppel Centre for Art Education at National Gallery Singapore with 149 secondary school students from APSN (Association for Persons with Special Needs) Katong School. APSN is a Social Service Agency that provides special education, vocational training, and employment support services for individuals with Mild Intellectual Disability. It was indeed a privilege for our Panasonic employees to participate in an Integrated Learning Journey CSR event as it was a great opportunity for them to engage and interact with the students from APSN Katong School.
The National Gallery Singapore is a heritage building that has witnessed many historic moments and is now a historical landmark. The Keppel Centre for Art Education is a dedicated space for kids within the National Gallery. It provides a fun space to explore art and unleash children’s creativity. It features a total of seven interactive learning zones for children. The APSN Katong students were divided into four groups based on their secondary levels and took turns to visit the key interactive learning zones, namely ‘A Brush with Forest Fire’, ‘Illuminate’, ‘Makers Studio’ and lastly the ‘Expression Workshop’. Our volunteers encouraged the APSN students to freely express their own creativity through the open-ended play at these various zones.

At the end of the learning journey, some of the students of APSN Katong School expressed to the volunteers that they overall had a fruitful experience as they had the opportunity to actively engage themselves in the highly immersive and sensory-driven space. The hands-on activities also encouraged the students to tap onto their imagination and explore all that they can create with the given resources. It was indeed a fulfilling experience for our Panasonic volunteers!
